clearly the PDX's finest attraction is Voodoo Doughnut
-
well, it's Canadian funds... so it's more like $6usd more or something. but on the whole, i agree with what Solace said.
-
the show is $35+charges here. that's kinda... expensive.
-
i went to Portland this summer to see Sleater-Kinney and totally fell in love with the place.
-
there's another tune floating around now... i smell a leak coming real soon.
-
the new one's a pretty sweet return to form, but it's a bit... bloated. Twice Removed is a classic classic album though. Although you can't really lose with A-Sides Win. They're a pretty great singles band.

i'm more excited about what the touch screen might mean for the iPod -
if he just shot 5 feet out instead of waltzing it in that wouldnt have been a problem though.

He can diss Canada all he wants, but little does he know that parts of Surrey are hella ghetto.

I'm anxious to hear what the rerecording of No Cars Go sounds like.

If Conrad is so down, maybe he could let Jason write some more tunes? -
care to YSI that then? I assume it would be kosher here, since there's no way it'll end up as a commercial release.

he started rhyming like Common Sense, but he ain't been rappin like Common since.

I can't remember where it was (maybe here), but i recall reading a dialogue about PFork (when Ott used to write for them) a couple of years ago, and someone posted along the lines of "Chris Ott is always at shows around town standing in the back with his arms crossed, not paying attention and looking pissed off" which seems to fit perfectly with this review. i can't say i've been that enamored with the Decemberists live as of late, but that was a touch over the top.

i dunno if i can put the top 10 in order... How to Fight Loneliness (Summerteeth) - Wilco Names (You Are Free) - Cat Power In Limbo (Kid A) - Radiohead Amy (Heartbreaker) - Ryan Adams Pry, To (Vitalogy) - Pearl Jam ok... I got to Dig Me Out by Sleater-Kinney and I can't think of one.

it's out of 36... and if you take into account that nobody is completely tone deaf and nobody is going to be near perfect, it leaves you a range of maybe 10 scores? although everyone getting over 80, and that apparently being excellent musician range, is a bit weird... either that or i'm wasting my talents.

that's really not the most audacious statement in the world. Please Please Me was half covers. the Stones first record had what? one original tune?... it's not like he said Definitely Maybe was better than Sgt. Pepper, Who's Next, and Exile on Main St or anything. Regardless, Def. Maybe is friggin massive.
