tinnitus photography
"Frances Ha." I think I'm in love with Greta Gerwig's character.i didn't know who she was so i googled her. Greta Celeste Gerwig is an American actress and filmmaker. Gerwig first came to prominence through her association with the mumblecore film movement i also wasn't aware of the mumblecore film movement. out of the loop.
NoJ
The 6 million dollar man vs bigfoot show was a defining moment in my young life. It was all the neighborhood talked about for days afterwards.
Analogman
I don't know why the Esquire Network is running old shows from the 70s - but I like it.

calvino
I remember those Big Foot episodes, too - fun stuff. A local free channel still runs both the 6 Mil. Man and Bionic Woman on some week night.
NoJ
I told my kids about the Bigfoot episode and they could care less. Speaking of Bigfoot, I was camping with a bunch of people last Fall and met a guy who totally believes in Bigfoot. So much so that he has gone up to the UP on weekend Bigfoot hunts. Me and my son struggled to not laugh during this conversation. Don't get me wrong, I really want to believe in Bigfoot but without hard evidence, I just cant do it.
Lammycat
My Uncle Artie used to try and pass off pro (fake) wrestling magazines to us after every Thanksgiving. Even as little kids we would laugh at him and tell him that it's fake crap. He'd get ticked and say something back like "Yeah well the BLOOD is real!!!"
calvino
I was at my local neighborhood pub and talked to someone who believes that Bigfoot like creature lives in the southern Cook county forest preserves.
Lammycat
Oh, and iirc, The Six-Million Dollar Man/Bionic Woman combo used to air ealy on Saturday evenings. Used to be a pretty big event around our house with 5 boys around the same age and a few neighborhood kids joining in.I've seen a ton of Littlefoots before. No one believes me. NoJ
I asked the guy, where are all the Bigfoot bones? Theres gotta be some Bigfoot bones so where are they? His response? Oh, they're there, science has them. Its all right there, man. My response-But where are they then? His-There, they're all there.Btw, I've seen some real freaks in Cook county forest preserves but never any skunk apes or sasquatches.
Winston Legthigh
Bfro.net Lots of catalogued encounters to read there. Good time waster. Also, bobcat goldthwait directed some "found footage" Bigfoot movie recently. Supposed to be good. I used to have a $6m man action figure. He had panels on his arms that would reveal circuitry, and you could look through the back of his head to see his magnified vision, IIRC. That and my Eval Knieval toys received a lot of mileage. NoJ
Cripes, $250 bucks!? Wait til I tell my dad what he threw out when I was 12. Also, I had that Evil Kneival action figure and accompanying exploding panel racecar and rocket car.
Analogman
I know this as I was looking for the one I had last night. Not usually my thing - but I watched The Fall on Netflix recently. Now I am watching The Killing.
Winston Legthigh
I also had a Big Jim action figure along with his Kung fu workout studio. I think he had the patented Kung fu grip. You could press a panel in his back and he'd do a karate chop. I had kneival's wind up motorcycle and his rocket car

Not the one I had though - someone gave it to me about 15 years ago. I am curious to see Amazon's version of The Man In The High Castle.

calvino
In any case, 20 Feet From Stardom is what I watched ... Finally got around to watch this --- it was good one, very well done - the music and interviews meshed very well. Never realized that Lisa Fischer won a Grammy before. Darlene Love sure got the shaft by Spector - what a dick.

Magnetized
The lamest Oscar show ever. Is anyone else enduring this torture? Have you maybe found at least a good liveblogging site? I cannot believe how bad the writing is! Edit: OK, I guess James Franco was worse.
dagwave
i'm kind of digging it! might be the vodka..... the super bowl had a kindness/ give back/ dare i say i say it....humility based vibe, and although thisis HOLLYWOODthe MPAII or whatever tends to lean liberal...I love the winners calling out positive messages:Call your parents and let them talk as long as they want to (if you can)crisis hotlines/ suicide prevention, sure im forgetting some. anyhoo, i love the spectacle, and entertainment, and the styles, the drama... guess i just love watching the picture shows- plus nph is boss hosting.i like the hippy- help others vibe. maybe all this cold has us thinking warm. Brock Landers
I think it's one of the duller telecasts I can remember. The Polish director not letting the orchestra play him off has been the highlight so far. NPH is not exactly lighting it up.
The Inside of Outside
I love the moving picture shows. This awards show - it's ok. Some moments when I cringe (NPH in his underwear?) and others when I am touched (Patricia Arquette's call for equal pay for women). I am thrilled that Grand Budapest Hotel has won three of the arty awards (production design, costumes, makeup). Well-deserved - the movie is visually striking.
uncool2pillow
The Octavia Spencer bit is dull, true. But other than that it's probably above average for awards shows in my book. Everything is Awesome was, well, awesome. Questlove and Mark Mothersbaugh sharing the same stage? Damn.
