linclink
You are the first person I've seen who likes Glad It's Over. IMO, worst song in the catalog. Now, the thanks I get....great song.Meet another...I absolutely love the extra tracks from these sessions (though "Let's Not Get Carried Away" is probably my least fave), & I'm crazy about the whole soul groove that comes out on so many of the tracks from that period!! augurus
Please use complete sentences."This." is technically a complete minor sentence. But if you're telling him to make more sentences, then I really can't do anything to help you two..
Mr. Heartbreak
I also think SBS would have been enhanced greatly with the inclusion of The Thanks I Get and Let's Not Get Carried Away, maybe even Glad It's Over, as official album tracks. But that's like, my opinion, man...The Thanks I Get and Let's Not Get Carried Away are the only songs I keep on on my iPod listed as "Sky Blue Sky" songs. So, your opinion is right. sonnyfeeling
Six shows into the current leg of the tour, and still nothing from W(TA). Edited: Make that seven.
Andrew McKean
My friend and I attended the first 5 shows of the summer tour. After five sound checks and four shows with songs ranging from every album (and even a cover of the theme song to "That 70's Show" sung by John in the Missoula sound check) except Wilco (The Album) we decided to take matters into our own hands. We wrote a not reading "Wilco (The Album)...?" and sat at the front right where Jeff could see us. He saw the sign and said (out of the microphone so I don't think anyone else heard it) "It's contractual. We don't have time to explain." I figured this meant that since they switched record labels they have entered a period in which a contract is restricting them from playing songs off that album for a few months. I have no idea but this is my best guess as to why the songs have not been appearing... makes the most sense too. Wilco would never leave an album out for seven shows unless they had to. calvino
Contractual ---- that's pretty funny. I believe they are going to play the whole Album in Geneva....

parisisstale
If I saw that sign at Red Rocks I woulda burned it....the wonderful lack of W(TA) has contributed significantly to the quality of these setlists....2 nights minus bull black nova practicallyade the trip for me.... Without being there I also have a sneaking suspicion your tweedy sarcasm-meter wasn't on at the time
lost highway
That it is... it is also the theme to "That 70's Show" I also like the theme song to "The Wonder Years". Did they play the song from the Sprint commercial?

Wilco would never leave an album out for seven shows unless they had to.That is really bizarre...but...it makes total sense...since, as I noted in an earlier post, they'd done 7 songs from this album earlier in 2012...& plenty of it in 2011 as well (even more actually- both in percentage of songs done & number of songs from the album)...It would be very odd for them to suddenly, totally ignore the album..If that's the truth, it's really a pity...If that's the truth, it's really a pity...especially since I'll be seeing them a ton, & it's my second favorite Wilco album!! I'm sure whatever insane legal parameters will pass after a certain period...so sad & a great example of the ridiculous world of legality as it related to music... The High Heat
I fail to understand how not performing songs off WTA (therefore not promoting them) helps Nonesuch sell more copies of said album.
worldrecordplayer
This discussion doesn't make any sense to me. Don't see why it would be a business decision?
calvino
Yeah - Yankee through the Album were all on Nonesuch - so why would Nonesuch say you can play songs off of any album, besides WTA. Plus, they have been playing songs off of the Album since The Whole Love has been released - just not on this present tour.
Andrew McKean
Without being there I also have a sneaking suspicion your tweedy sarcasm-meter wasn't on at the time My tweedy sarcasm meter was on... he was being serious. And again this is just what we heard, I have no idea why it was like that. My guess is that it is similar to when Conan O'Brien was off air for a year and was contracted to not appear on television for a full year. Obviously not the same, but similar. If someone can give me more evidence to a better reason why they would avoid this album entirely (and saying it is their worst album doesn't count because if you have read any interview with the band ever you would know that they like W(TA) a lot more than some of you do) I'm all ears. That being said... I'm really confused why this album gets hated on so much. Maybe I'm alone when I say that I think every Wilco song is really good but I think W(TA) has some of there best songs. Every time I listen to it I find my self surprised by how much people hate it.And I really don't understand why people bring that hate on this website. I dislike coming on here and reading things that people post that are only negative towards the band. And it's not that negative criticism is bad, I just view this as a place to commonly love this unifying thing not hate on it. This is a Wilco forum. If you don't like, don't listen to it, and don't complain about it.
lost highway
The good news is their new album is great, and you don't need any evidence or unification.

parisisstale
This is a Wilco forum. If you don't like, don't listen to it, and don't complain about it. I apologize for my earlier tone, no harm intended.... thou I'll never understand the train of thinking that forums are places to universally sing praises.....forums are a place for debate, how completely boring would life be if every single individual loved every little thing the same.... I've been active here over 7 years & some of the most interesting & thought-provoking discussions i've ever been a part of were right here, from wilco to Mozart to socialism to the Yankees....Ive felt a sincere connection to jeff tweedy since 1992 but there's no way I can pretend to believe that W(TA) is up to the band's high standards....but if you love it god bless ya, that's what makes music so great, different strokes for different folks
