Hixter
Really hoping that we get Nels Cline & Julian Lage again as well!!!That would be great. Yuka Honda mentioned the festival the other day on Facebook, so it's likely that there will be a Cibo Matto and/or Fig performance. I saw Fig at a sparsely attended gig at the Smell in L.A. last month and they really rocked.
A heart I know by heart
no matter how it unfolds, this is pretty sweet so far... jeff is going to be one busy dude... what do we think the odds are that Jim O'Rourke plays a set and then joins Jeff and Glenn for the 'Jeff + friends' part? Wishful Thinking, maybe, but something to hope for. So looking forward to the full line-up announcement...
The Inside of Outside
I think it'll be Wilco on Fri. & Sat. night & then the closing act on Sunday will go... A set of Tweedy, then Jeff solo acoustic & then the finale will be the Tweedy Band coming on to host a run of special guests.I thought this, too, especially as it is close to a regular Tweedy show format. If Tweedy/Jeff solo/Tweedy and friends closes out Sunday, it will continue the laid back vibe on Sunday that the past SS's have had (or at least the last two that I attended - can't speak for the first SS). d. boony
Well, of course. That goes without saying. I also want to clarify. I have zero problems with kids being there. We have more fun (and my kids have more fun) with them at their grandparent's. There's room for all kinds of people in this world. I was just presenting an idea for a local babysitter at night, in case someone wanted to consider the option. It's actually an interesting idea, and one that got me thinking... rhino4evr
Damn, Jeff is gonna be tired! Strange that they didn't mention Tweedy would be on Sunday night. Although that seems like an obvious assumption. I also read this as a short Tweedy set, a short solo set, and a short "Everyone set"...in other words a typical Tweedy show. Pretty sure Luscious will be there now as well. If John Hodgemen is returning, does that mean we will see another "all requests" show on Friday night?
Hixter
If John Hodgemen is returning, does that mean we will see another "all requests" show on Friday night?I doubt it. I always figured that the request show was a chance to practice/perform songs that they had learned for the upcoming tour with Dylan and MMJ and all those special guests. worldrecordplayer
Damn, Jeff is gonna be tired! Strange that they didn't mention Tweedy would be on Sunday night. Not to be hypertechnical, my memory is that each past SS ended Sunday afternoon. I'm figuring something like a 2:00 Tweedy etc show to close it out.
rhino4evr
last Solid Sound, I think the last set on Sunday started closer to 4 or 5pm IIRC.

I don't know if they'll do it, but I think it was an amazing idea & I totally adored it.Last time I got my request, "And Your Bird Can Sing", & it got done twice no less... this time I'm hoping that they'd either open, or better yet close with my new request- "It's All Too Much"!!!Speaking of "It's All Too Much"... camping reserved last week, & finished off getting the last tickets for our crew today...whew! Just in the nick of time... 140 days to go & counting down to the return of the wonders of the Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory crossed with Pepperland that is Solid Sound...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S5M2GtNpPE4

theashtraysays
Since we're running out of time to play "guess the lineup", here's mine.In addition to the Wilco’s and TWEEDY and all the side projects...The top 4 that I fully expect to be there :- Richard Thompson- Jim Campilongo Trio- Cibo Matto- LuciusThe top 4 realistically possible that I would really like to be there :- William Tyler- Califone- Yo La Tengo- Andrew BirdThe top 4 “in my dreams” but not totally out the realm of possibility :- Joe Jackson- The New Pornographers- St. Vincent- Beck
RaspberryJam
My totally realistic wishes are Blitzen Trapper, Dr Dog, Dawes, and Deer Tick. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Mayoman
If you check out the recent 'liked by this page' artists on Solid Sound's facebook, I think they may indicate a few artists who will be at the festival.

Like when Yo La Tengo played last year & did the film soundtrack performance & then their regular set... Speaking of which, yeah, if anyone were to repeat, please let it be Yo La Tengo- who are celebrating their 30th anniversary this same year that Wilco is celebrating their 20th. St. Vincent would be another absolute top shelf choice. I think Cibo Matto are quite likely this year...speaking of which, I certainly hope that we also get a repeat of Nels Cline & Julian Lage too! My dark horse hopeful, is Donna The Buffalo, who I think would be a great fit & who are just one of my half dozen favorite bands on the planet. I'd also hold out hope for Sufjan Stevens, who is touring on a new release this year too. I think Lucius is a very likely potential repeat act too, & very welcome as well...especially looking forward to them sitting in with Tweedy. I'd love to see plenty of other folks & think Andrew Bird is a very likely possibility...has he ever played Solid Sound before? The other two biggies for me, who I think there's a possibility of, are Television & The Replacements.

Mayoman
Other possibilities for Solid Sound going by their Facebook page are Ryley Walker, Kevin Morby, Cibo Matto, and Mac DeMarco.

knotgreen
I'd love to see Joe Pug at SSF. I think there's a chance, considering Pat's going to be on his new album. Would also love: Gregory Alan Isakov, Blitzen Trapper, Sharon Van Etten, and the Punch Brothers. Chances are none of these bands will be there & I'll recognize maybe 2 of the acts that they actually invite.
