  1. I cannot wrap my head around ranking their albums at this point. I'm having difficulty placing Star Wars on the list. I'll give it another month or two of listening.
  2. To play a brand new record, in its entirety, at a festival, is a risky undertaking. They did it once in front of the hometown crowd; it will be interesting to see if they do it again. The 2 hour slot at this festival increases the chances a bit, I suppose.
  3. Some folks may think this is crazy, but I love the solo in Merry Go Round by The Replacements. Always been a favorite. And maybe my most favorite.
  4. The White Sox are hitting the cover off of the ball. Could be a sign of things to come, or it could be a sign that they are playing the Red Sox.
  5. I've never been a Papelbon fan, but I like to see good closers get onto playoff teams. I hope the trade goes through. It adds a layer of excitement to the postseason when you have a quality closer going up against a playoff lineup in the 9th inning of a close game.
  6. I was happy about that, too. I thought he had a good chance of going there.
  7. That was a great question. And an insightful answer.
  8. Good to see that the Red Sox are selling. Still a few fans up here who want them to buy. Crazy. Victorino is first to go. Who's next? Napoli?
  9. I may get the 1 CD best of live set. Don't think I'll spring for the 3 CD set, though the song list looks good.
  10. Looks like Wilco has a 75 minute set (6 to 7:15), after St. Vincent and before Mumford and Sons.
  11. Good to see tonight that the Red Sox are not going to lose all of the rest of their games this season. I guess eight in a row was enough.
  12. I was at that TWEEDY show, too. Didn't check out the store next to the Music Hall, though. Now that I think about it, it is the video store in Portland that is closing - Videoport - not Bull Moose.
  13. I live in Maine - there are four stores within 25 minutes of me (Portland, South Portland, Brunswick and Scarborough). I think their Portland store is closing soon because of sky high rents. Walking in to a Bull Moose store is like walking back 20 years in time.
  14. Just talked with a good friend who was in the 9th row for this show. Of the 40-odd times he has seen Wilco, he thought only two shows were better (Terminal 5 a few years ago, and Irving Plaza in 97). He thought this was better than Night 2 of the recent Solid Sound, and better than the 3 nights at the Cap in Port Chester. He did provide a disclaimer that he was pretty "activated" for this show. Seems the liberal marijuana laws in CO went to his head.
  15. I have never been, but a friend has been a few times. He says it is manageable, and not overwhelming like some festivals. He does like the jam bands, though.
  16. Digging Cold Slope>King of You. Hell, pretty much digging the whole thing.
  17. The full lineup for this festival, and the acoustic bent, make this one of the few festivals that I would be interested in attending. I look forward to hearing reports from those going.
  18. I am looking forward to listening to this show. Via Chicago opener, Pot Kettle Black, (Was I) in Your Dreams, Camera, and We've Been Had - looks great. I imagine it will sound great, too.
  19. That is still a pretty good set list. I could do with not hearing some of the older, over-played hits (After the Gold Rush, Old Man), but there are some gems on this list in my book (Long May You Run, Out on a Weekend, Words, Country Home, Down By the River, Love and Only Love).
  20. People are whaling on the guy in the comment section. I found the review to be low stress. He likes Star Wars. He likes cliches. He categorizes a group of fans based on economic status, race, parental status, and age. If it helps him make sense of the world, and Wilco's music, that's fine. Oh, yeah, and eat shit childless rockers! That cracked me up, jw harding.
