I have no opinion, except it's fun to say "Moe Tucker Tea-Bagger" with a Nico accent.

1. Which of these 3 records do you look forward to most? Wilco. With this lineup they could turn out something really special - what that could be I haven't a clue. That's why I'm really looking forward to it. 2. Which do you expect to be the best? I hope it will be Wilco, but I'm pretty sure it'll be Radiohead. I bet that a year down the road I'll still be listening to the new Radiohead. Wilco? I'll probably play it to death within a few weeks of it's release. 3. Can REM eek out one last great record after a string of so-so ones? Can they? sure. Will they? nope.

I'd love to hear them do a multi-disc Sandinista kind of thing - just go in the studio, bash out a bunch of stuff, and put it all out there.

Nels Cline's lack of involvement with the last album

Well, yes (and I agree w/ u2rools that it's not a bad thing either). Also, I imagine being in Wilco gives the various band members the financial footing to have side projects without having to worry about record sales and profit margins. It's why someone like Frank Black can go in the studio every year with top-notch studio musicians and record an album that hardly anyone buys - he's got his financial bases covered w/ Pixies tour money. -
Do you care about whats on the setlist when you go to concerts?

I had the same exact experience and reaction to the Warehouse tour as well. -
There's an interview with Breskin about the Dirty Baby project at Artinfo.

Yeah, I can't imagine there's anything left in the can - I think all the scraps ended up on side 6. btw, S! is my all-time favorite record(s) -

According to a recent interview with Mick Jones a deluxe 30th anniversary edition of Sandinista! is coming out by the end of the year. No word yet on what's included or if it's been remastered - some folks are speculating it'll include a bonus disc from the Bonds residency. -

Absolutely! Also, the Minutemen -
They also need a backup point guard so I'll gladly offer my services - if they can use a 46 yr.old 5'11" slow white guy who can't jump and hasn't touched a basketball in 3 years. I'll even play for the league minimum. And most importantly, I'm willing to dial my game back for the sake of the team.

Link to Nels interview in Express Night Out - don't know it it's been mentioned before but Nels states in the interview that Wilco's starting their own record label.

Maybe Bowie's gonna pull a Duchamp (one of his heroes) & give the appearance of retiring, while secretly toiling at a career-summing work (ala etant-donnes) that won't see the light of day until after he's gone.

I heard "One Wing" twice at the Delta terminal at LaGuardia this past Sun/Mon (I had a 15 hr. layover)

Stone Roses - S/T XTC - Skylarking REM - Murmur Pixies - Surfer Rosa Also, I wouldn't change a note on Abbey Road. Same with Aja. Lots of albums come close but there's usually the one song that I end up skipping ("Card Cheat" on London Calling, "Live with Me" on Let it Bleed, "Jigsaw Puzzle" on Beggars Banquet)

"Secret of the Sea" at our local Oyster Bar restaurant in Savannah this past Friday had us bobbing our heads as we ate hush puppies.
