Tanner
I think that is an old one - he has been re-posting videos as of late. The one with the puppets the other day was up at the blog before also. Ah, you're right. I'm glad Foggy is back...what a hiatus.
Analogman
Sometimes, those videos were put up late at night, and gone the next day. I have never seen the one were he is playing the banjo.
stickman
A couple of new things over at the cardinology mailbox. One is a link to enter yourself in a contest to win a watermarked autographed CD and signed poster a week before the album is to be released. The other is a clip of the first single "Fix It". Kalle
Yeah but none of those songs are going to be on the new record? I'm confused I guess, those are all just unreleased stuff from various sessions, singles etc.
mfwahl
Yeah but none of those songs are going to be on the new record? I'm confused I guess, those are all just unreleased stuff from various sessions, singles etc. You're correct, Kalle. None of those will be on the new record. Here's something to read: The first single on deck, "Fix It," will be released tomorrow, and another track, "Stop," will be a featured song on the Sept. 30 episode of A&E's The Cleaner. Ramping up to the release, the Cardinals will continue on a long line of tour dates and then celebrate the record's drop with a appearance on The Late Show on Oct. 29. Cardinology tracklist:"Born Into A Light""Go Easy""Fix It""Magick""Cobwebs""Let Us Down Easy""Crossed Out Name""Natural Ghost""Sink Ships""Evergreen""Like Yesterday""Stop"
stickman
Ooops good call. I forgot that a track list had come out. Either way the songs on there are pretty kickass.
Three dollars and 63 cents
Since this thread has been pretty active, I didn't think it was worth starting a new thread in After the Show, but I was really impressed by the show in Syracuse last night. I'd sort of written him off a few years ago after I saw them at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia, but this show completely won me back. I had a bad day at work yesterday and was really zapped by the time I left, and I almost blew off the show. I'm so glad I didn't. The band was tight and focused, and they put on a great show. The new songs sound great, especially Fix You. I'm looking forward to hearing the whole album next month. I didn't care for Easy Tiger, but the songs were so much better live with stronger guitar and drum parts. Here's the set list:1. Cobwebs2. Two3. Come Pick Me Up4. Magick5. When the Stars Go Blue6. Fix It7. The Sun Also Sets8. Off Broadway9. Go Easy10. La Cienega Just Smiled11. Freeway to the Canyon 12. Crossed Out Name13. Blue Hotel14. Everybody Knows15. Wonderwall16. Like Yesterday17. Cold Roses18. This is It19. You Don't See Me Crying20. Oh My God Whatever Etc.21. House is Not for Sale 22. Peaceful Valley23. I See Monsters My camera batteries died about halfway through the first set, but I still got a few pretty good pictures (along with my usual blurry and/or grainy ones). They're here. I really liked the poster from last night, but it didn't do so well in the rain while I was walking back to my car
stickman
I'm really diggin the new stage setup. Wish they were headin out west, maybe sometime in early 09.
bigideas
i would think he would avoid, Come Pick Me Up, Stars Go Blue and Wonderwall, but that's cool that he's playing them. is he doing them just like his studio versions or have they altered them? the setlists i've seen have been great and i saw pics of their neon rose logos. it should be a very good show. i'm not sure i know Freeway to the Canyon or You Don't See Me Crying. Wendy
... i'm not sure i know Freeway to the Canyon or You Don't See Me Crying. Those are Neal Casal songs. I have never heard them do "Come Pick Me Up" so I'm hoping Columbus or Indy shows will provide.
Three dollars and 63 cents
Pretty much not a single song from the set list sounded exactly like the album version. I think that was a good thing, except maybe for Where the Stars Go Blue. I didn't particularly care for the arrangement of that one. Both Wonderwall and I See Monsters started out very quietly, like the studio versions, but blossomed into full-band performances. I was so thrilled to hear Come Pick Me Up. I'd never heard it before, either, and when I saw that they'd played it Thursday in Albany, I didn't figure they'd play it again so soon. The show was so good that I considered driving up to Rochester to see them again last night. It's nice to see him get his act together. I left the awful show I saw three years ago so disappointed because I knew he was capable of so much more. I hoped he would put on a better show this time, but I didn't expect it to be this good.
