Ouch. Los Lobos has 0.55% of the vote. They're getting Alan Trammelled out of the HOF.

I love Los Lobos. But, not so sure that they are really a HoF-type band.

What that tells me is that how awesome a band is really has nothing, or very little to do with how worthy they are of inclusion. Because, if it did, The Wolves would be a lock.

The JB's should be a no-brainer.

Agreed but it should be a sideman or backup group situation, like they did a few years ago.

They should have them, Silver Bullet Bank, Crazy Horse and a few others.

They should not be with the "regular performer list".

btw:  The nomination committee was revamped this year and I think we now have a more "rockist"  ballot this year.  I think they do have some fault but they are now moving in the right direction.  It is tough with only 5-6 that go in each year and many have favorites.

Harry Nilson (imo of course) is on the same level as many that are not in, I don't think he is a shoe in but he does have some backers.  Too bad John Lennon is not alive, he would get him in.

I think this is a good mix this year...I see NWA and Chicago as the only locks.  Love to see Cheap Trick and the Cars.

The only thing about the Cars for me is that I saw them live and they were very boring.  They did have one of the best ever first records though.

Someone should start an alternate HoF.

The RnR Bedroom of Fame, or something like that. They couldn't quite make it into the hall. But, boy are they sexy!

Jack Rabid would be a good curator, methinks.

Or the Basement of Fame: too far underground to gain the recognition they deserve.

Jack's got some great musical taste and experience, but there'd be no metal bands in his HoF, and that just wouldn't be right.

Yeah. Listening to Maiden's Live After Death right now, and there is no doubt in my mind that they are HoF-worthy.

But I'm guessing that they'll never be in.

I mean, 4 decades of consistently high-quality music with NO extended low periods. Maybe one or two albums here or there that weren't quite up to par, but no more than that. So awesome.

I agree, though I have not followed the band as closely since college. However, I am not a fan of Live After Death. Could never get into that one.

There are several bands that influenced Iron Maiden that need to be in there before them - such as Judas Priest.

Agreed. Priest needs to be there.

Been listening to Sin after Sin and Sad Wings this morning -- that "Last Rose of Summer" is a good tune. Also, always liked their version of "Diamond and Rust", of course when I was in grade school and listening to these tapes, I never heard of Joan Baez and always thought Judas Priest wrote the tune.
