jff
I give Spicer two more weeks. He's seriously cracking up. I'm actually going to miss him in a way, because I know his replacement will be ten times worse.

Lammycat
Carrot It will probably be Sean Hannity. Carrot Top doing all press reporting with prop comedy would be just as apt, too.
remphish1
Wow did anyone hear about Trumps meeting with the Airlines CEO's he was telling them everything that he heard wrong on the industry by quoting his private jet pilot...seriously?!
KevinG
Wow did anyone hear about Trumps meeting with the Airlines CEO's he was telling them everything that he heard wrong on the industry by quoting his private jet pilot...seriously?! What do you expect. The President has no knowledge, no understanding of the basic workings of government, let alone the job he has. Interesting read from Politico http://www.politico.com/story/2017/02/donald-trump-challenges-governing-presidency-234879 I always used to laugh when people tried to simplify the workings of government (especially budgets) down to, why can't the government be run like a household/ business? Now we have an entire group of people who are trying to do that very same thing. Jesus, it has been less than a month, what a dumpster fire this has been. At some point The President's supports have to realize they made a huge mistake.
Winston Legthigh
Everyday there's this morbid dread I have about "What happened today?" And when I get home, every day, my wife and I trade stories, "Did you hear??" We're dumbfounded. That's why I posted the New Pornos "Laws Have Changed" vid above. "It was a crime at the time but the laws we changed 'em ... What will be revealed today? ... Form a line to the throne."

NoJ
The airlines industry DEFINTELY needs the regulations guiding it dialed back tremendously. I'm more than willing to trust those companies to do what needs to be done in order to keep us safe in the air. What could go wrong? Sheesh, stupid regulations......
lost highway
The airlines industry DEFINTELY needs the regulations guiding it dialed back tremendously. I'm more than willing to trust those companies to do what needs to be done in order to keep us safe in the air. What could go wrong? Sheesh, stupid regulations...... Right? I'm a little too busy to cite my sources properly but I can clearly recall a story last year about increased risk from flights being stacked closer together to both max pilot time, and passengers per day. If you ever wondered why some crap happens to over half the flights you book these days (delays, lost baggage, missed connections, cancelations), it's because of how tight they're running everything to stay profitable and keep airfare low. I can't imagine rolling back regulations is going to help either staff or passengers. It'll probably help CEOs and stock holders though.
Winston Legthigh
^^ I remember this story from my school days in Minneapolis: http://www.nytimes.com/1990/08/21/us/northwest-pilots-are-found-guilty-of-drunken-flying.html Mr. Prouse drank at least 15 rum and Diet Cokes, according to bar records and accounts of witnesses. The two other pilots shared at least seven pitchers of beer, witnesses said.None of the pilots slept for more than five and a half hours before reporting for duty the next morning. John Smith
ICE raids are occurring around the country. Is this the beginning of the round up process? Or just business as usual?

I'd guess it's the beginning. But I think (as usual) he has really miscalculated. This will be such a hornets nest!
NoJ
An old college buddy called me last night expressing concern about my recent posting behavior on FB regarding the current federal administration. He is a proud (his word) supporter of 45 and wanted to talk me about giving the man a chance. Long story short, my buddy is way way gone into the nether world of fantasy and fiction. I had to hold my tongue so many times. We didn't argue but I did say a number of times "I don't know how to respond to that". A point that he made very clear was the more the media and public opposes 45, the more he will dig in his heels. He used bushCo as an example of media holding him in an unfavorable light right from the beginning which, ya know, just wasn't right. I'm going to try to keep the dialog going with this guy but I don't feel hopeful that he is going to come around anytime soon.
LouieB
I'm just curious. What does your friend think 45 is doing or going to do that is so great? Maybe we just can't see it. LouieB

jff
DT has been a public figure since I was a young child. He's been a dickhead that entire time on a wide variety of levels. So, why should anyone be expected to press reset and give him a chance now? There's no do-overs. Everything he's done up until now counts, so no, there will not be a "chance" given. KevinG
Watching Spicer's press conference on this. Yeah looks like it won't go any further. Chaffetz agrees: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/jason-chaffetz-michael-flynn_us_58a31aa2e4b03df370da45b9?ncid=inblnkushpmg00000009 Beyond that this is the first time I have seen the "Skype" questions fro the press pool. Man, I have never seen a group of hand picked ultra right wing, soft ball questions in my life. And it is true Spicer is horrible at his job.
