  1. I am not surprised that Cutler didn't like it -- he is an interesting guy - nothing new with the Dead and Phish crowd beating each other down and I guess if anyone can do that, Cutler can - think he paid his dues to have that opinion, even though I don't agree with it. I don't think there is a pretentiousness bone in Cutler's body, even though after reading his thoughts on the Phish show, he comes off so.
  2. Listened to most of 7/25/17 - sounded great. The theme was 'jam filled' - It definitely was. Thinking about doing the Friday webcast.
  3. Curious to know why the shows end so early. Nothing wrong it at all - it just seems odd that the shows end at 7:30. Would love to make it to Newport at some point. after doing a google search maybe the early ending show times stem back to 1971 - damn, crazy college-aged hippies... http://archives.chicagotribune.com/1971/07/05/page/18/article/jazz-festival-halted-after-riot/
  4. Not to mention, a possible role for his wife in Trump's State department.
  5. That's interesting -- the Lounge Ax shows sprung to my mind, when I listened to this record on it's release day - via Spotify. I haven't gotten around to buying it, though I intend to. Looking forward to how it sounds through my main system.
  6. The author of the book discussed in the article was on Fresh Air, today ---- this may be the only time that Bannon and me are on the same page on an opinion, too.
  7. I think that's Merle doing that -- can't tell though. It does seem that Merle and Martin are dueling at bit. (it actually may be Martin playing through a wah-wah as I continue to listen to it)
  8. I took my quote from a Chicago Tribune article -- I don't necessary agree with the wording, either - just wanted to post all names of all the players involved in the trade and grabbed the paragraph. I always enjoyed watching Quintana pitch - very intense pitcher -- but I am fine with the trade and like anytime when you trade for prospects - hopefully they pan out. On paper they all look great - esp. Jimenez.
  9. Nice Cubs/White Sox trade today. Glad to happen to catch Quintana's last game pitching at Sox Park - he definitely pitch better than he did earlier season, but he still got a no decision. This trade should help both teams.
  10. We're just finished ep. 5 of Season 5 --- with the current state of politics, so far none of this season seems implausible. Not saying it willl get there, though. My wife and I are political hacks and use to enjoy this show, because of how implausible it was - now the show doesn't seem much of a distraction as it once was.
  11. Yeah - pretty good. Listened to some others via Spotify. Interesting stuff.
  12. This thread started on -- Posted 29 May 2012 - 09:11 PM --- guessing a search was done and this one was bumped. Looks like lamradio only had to wait 4 or 5 years for the reunion. I don' think I ever heard a Ween song.
  13. I am pretty sure at least some of those shows will be at the Owl and Bear site. https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/0B5xZV5X8KwRCTlB3MXVpVGE1NGc
  14. We planned on going this year with the family, but came up with other plans --- so I finally gotten around and bought some Roadcases - bought the run. We look forward to hear them. Starting with the last show. So far, the sound they sound is pretty good, I am up through New Madrid.
  15. My only reference to Cuban cigars is the Seinfeld episode. I figured they must be good.
  16. I am not cigar smoker - but are Cuban cigars that much better than others or is it just a 'hype' thing? - just curious.
  17. Since 95, when I go to a Dead related offshoot band - I never think to compare it to the Grateful Dead. Of course it isn't the Grateful Dead - I don't expect nor want it to be the 'Grateful Dead' --- i have plenty of tapes to listen to for that.
  18. Actually I hung with some of your Northern crew on Friday. Nice time.
  19. I was apprehensive seeing a show at Wrigley, mostly due to logistics - I agree the entire staff at Wrigley were great both nights. Very friendly.
  20. The Boston show has always been my favorite in that May 5th to May 9th Run
  21. I thought his vocals were fine this past weekend. Yeah, he definitely has lost a little punch, but for a near 70 year old - he is sounding pretty good. Now listening to 7.5.81 and he is sounding great (Saint Of Circumstance).
  22. Yeah - I don't listen to Dead & Co. boots, but seeing the band live is fun and each of the shows that I have attended (I saw 4) have been pretty great. Mayer and Oteil bring a lot of energy to the stage and their playing suits the music. Bobby has been sounding great with them, also. The whole scene around these shows has been great, too - I can't say that for various other incarnations (with Warren, etc.). But if I want to listen to these tunes at outside of a live situation - I play actual Grateful Dead shows.
  23. Ha! - I am middle of the below. Interesting book, thus far. Sadly, the above was probably going on before 45 - which probably helped get 45 elected.
  24. When I wrote the bit on Lazy Lightning, I was listing to the Go To Nassau release. I love Feel Like A Stranger. I just find Lazy Lightning a bit cheesy. 1st night at Wrigley was lot of fun. Due to a train snafu, we missed the 1st three tunes. 2nd set was definitely a good one.
