From an email they just sent: What a Week for Wilco! From downtown Chicago’s Civic Opera House to the more intimate settings of the Vic, Metro, and Lincoln Hall on the near northside, Wilco is making their musical presence felt in five of the city’s most popular venues this week. Of course, each of these XRT Shows sold out almost immediately. Our initial impression after the first two performances is that the band is as excited about this live homecoming as are we, their biggest fans. See Wilco video here. Tune in Friday for our day-long Wilco feature, including excerpts from Jeff Tweedy’

Hi - I'm looking for an extra for the Metro for a friend. I know it is a long shot, but figured I would post anyway. Get in touch with me if you can help. Thanks VC!

Just want to say - The entry process at the Riv last night was SO EASY. This ticketing policy needs to go in effect everywhere.

Night 2. Impressed with Wilco changing the set up so dramatically from the prior night and playing songs they haven’t done in a while. It was a fan’s setlist. Not uber bside, but deep cuts. Bravo to Wilco for that. It was casual up on stage with the restarts and it looked like they weren’t really letting loose on some of the songs – pure speculation, but I would guess since they weren’t second nature they needed to focus more on the music than the performance (Seeds, Kamera, High). Highlights: Can’t Stand It, I Got You, Reservations Loved the I’m a Wheel set addition. Loved Just a Kid. Fel

Riv tickets are back on sale...per a jamusa tweet.

Tickets for the Riv/ VIc could be found on etix.com yesterday. I think it is very possible there will be some at the door too.

Wilco at the Opera House. Not a very rock n’ roll venue, but the band and the crowd were great. It helped that this was the first event in memory (of my bartender) that alcohol was allowed at the seats. I was lucky to have a great seat. There are a lot of seats very far from the stage. This may be the best tour to see the band from a distance. The lighting has really improved. I don’t know if I just missed it due to the obstruction in Nashville when I saw them or if they’ve improved it that much since then, but it was a great light show. The setlist was typical for this tour. That is not a b

Tonight ends the longest drought for a Chicago show by Wilco ever. 2 years 1 month and 24 days. Welcome back Wilco.

I was a fan in the mid 90's. Really impressed with reports from their 4 30th birthday party shows at the Fillmore in SF. They do a good job with their fans. http://www.rollingst...lights-20111211 The guests alone are impressive: Night 2: Marianne Faithful, Ray Haller (Sweet Savage), Kid Rock, John Bush (Armored Saint –Metallica wanted him to join as their singer, when he declined Hetfield kept at it), Lou Reed, Jason Newsted, King Diamond, Merciful Hate Night 3 Jerry Cantrell, Animal (Motorhead), Gary Rossington (Lynyrd Skynyrd), Pepper Keenan (Corrosion of Conformity), Jim Martin (F

Wilco (Jam?) took out a full page color ad in the Chicago Reader this week "Thank You Chicago" for sold out shows. Really nice gesture.

Metro just sent something out. All set.

Jeff has commented that he was happy to win. I believe his parents really dug it and that made him happy. You are correct. Best Alternative album.

? I don't get it. If you implying Axl is old, he's only 49 (5 years older than Tweedy), and if you are implying he is fat I don't really see it. Axl Rose sounds great, looks slightly younger than his age, remains a great performer and plays a 3 hour show with all the hits + 2 great AC/DC cover songs. Best songs of the night: Jungle, Brownstone, Rocket Queen and Better. The band includes 3 guitarists (1 too many) and 2 keyboardists (2 too many). The crowd, understandably, only recognizes 2-3 of the band members including Axl which makes it strange that there are 6 different sections of the show dedicated to band members – not exactly solos, but not GNR songs and not good. This pretty much derails the momentum of the show every 10 mi

I'm going to the show in Chicago next week. They are playing 3 hours shows ending at 2-3AM. Should be interesting. First time seeing them (including Ashba) since 2002.

Maybe they are pulling a Chicago and announcing smaller and smaller venues? Wikipedia has Palladium at 4,000 and wiltern at 2300. One can hope.
