  1. Great album, like someone earlier said, it's all over the place and in a good way. One of my faves of '09 so far. Not seeing any love for Thickfreakness here either?
  2. Larry does seem to be the only one who is resolutely Dublin and in touch with "the people" but doesn't he look like an angry middle aged lesbian these days?
  3. I thought they were great. Very energetic performance. As for Paul Macca, God why bother? It's like they roll him out every year to fill space.
  4. And both of them attempt to crowbara hundred notes into each word in a song. Infuriatingly annoying both of them and actually now that I am feeling sexist...both double baggers too.
  5. It was one of the best shows I saw last year too. Love to see them again sometime.
  6. Love the Vetiver and Louris/Olson albums. Haven't heard the other one.
  7. God, that is so sad. I really love SJ and he sounds so miserable and unhappy, my heart breaks for him. He has brightened so many music lover's lives and I wish him nothing but the best in the future.
  8. They've been away a while but it will be good to hear this new music. Great band.
  9. Damien Jurado's Medication. Simple, sparse and totally heartbreaking.
  10. Colour me very disappointed that Revolutionary Road didn't get nominated in the Adapted Screenplay category. Bastards.
  11. Man, I watched Remember The Titans a while back and seeing how huge Ethan Suplee was in that really shocked me.
  12. My ambivalence to this band has already been stated several times but this single is quite poor as a lead off single for an album. Usually they have a fairly decent stab at a first single even if it pales over time. This one never even gets out of sounding like a studio experiment.
  13. Jack Torrance: [typed] All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
  14. I am....did I get my direction wrong, that happens a lot.
  15. You think? I better take down my pic of Queen Elizabeth and her idiot family then.
  16. Simply superb movie, highly recommended. Ove the last two days I have been watching whatever rubbish was on tv. Remember The Titans, actually pretty watchable and well, Denzil...worth a watch at any time. The Pursuit Of Happyness, not as bad as I thought it would be. 1408, I only watched this because of my Stephen King obsession but it was ok too.
  17. Well, I am sure that is not the case. Wilco have played several shows in both England and Ireland in the past and don't seem to be purposely avoiding the place. Ticket prices among many other commodities here, as in England I am sure, are just scandalous.
  18. OK , sorry I was referring to Kyle's remark about people becoming fans of the band with Kid A. Sorry for the confusion.
  19. Unfortunately, ticket prices are just one of many expensive things in Europe these days. Ireland is even worse than Spain for rip off prices.
  20. Welcome, I am just north east of Virginia. A few miles.
  21. Who would have become big fans of Radiohead with that album? Most people I know caught onto them with The Bends and a few, myself included, really liked Pablo Honey.
  22. You make up that kind of scenario in your head a lot then? I love that lyrics as well though. The one Solace mentioned is my favourite though, at least today.
