danelectro
haha, i am 20, but i do know and enjoy america and bread. to me the new songs are rocking. thats why im curious as to why some people are complaining because this is a "mellow" record. Yeah sorry it was supposed to be funny, I'm not much of a comic.
Basil II
Ah yes thanks. I've held that book in my hands a few times but couldn't choke the $30 to buy it. Was a time I bled Wilco but I kind of lost interest after YHF. By the time AGIB came out I had moved on. Something drew to me VC today and I'm glad I came, the new songs roped me back in to Wilco. Lowelll George meets Brinsley Schwartz is wat i've been hearin'....... -robert.
danelectro
No doubt, Either Way sounds like it could have been a Nick Lowe song. It would have fit right in on the 1st Brinsley album. I keep waiting for Ebury Down to follow it.
TCP
I normally try to ignore the people on the internet that seem to be initially disappointed with every new release, by an established band, ever. But I think Walken is a really great, FUN, song, and it pains me to see it get so much shit. Nels lap steel kills me every time. It is by far my favorite of the three (though I think they're all great and am very excited for this).
Chendizzle
Dude I love the solo. Do you hate music? Either Way just doesn't stir me. At Least That's What You Said can bring tears to my eye with that solo, Either Way just passes me by.
optical_study
these really are just amazing songs.so excited for the rest of the record.
Kicking_Television
Either Way just doesn't stir me. froggie
There's an AM gold sort of flavor to parts of the songs. ah, thats why most people hate it!

pillowy star
"Either Way" and "YAMF" are fantastic, I could listen to them on repeat whilst staring into candles burning down. Very very good songs. First listen to "Walken", my comment was "I am disappointed, it sounded so much better live". Then I listened to it on headphones. WHOA.
OOO
cause they are gay You are consistant, I'll give you that much.
leftandleaving
i want to know where indietastic.net got the 3 songs originally and why they don't leak the rest of the songs... Not sure how they got the 3 songs but here may be an explanation of why they were taken down so quickly: In the past few days, we've heard about a few incidents where the RIAA has asked hosting companies of bloggers to suspend accounts that post unsanctioned MP3s:
Calexico
Isn't the internets about bitching about how much something does or does not suck? No. I think someone said earlier that the internet is about porn. I tend to agree. Then again, I am wearing lederhosen.

fletcher
So far the 3 songs have a cool feel and after repeated listens I'm picking up a '73 era Stones or Faces vibe. I haven't listened yet, but it's interesting you heard the Faces in the new stuff. "Ooh La La" played right before Jeff came out at the Charlottesville show this past January. If anyone on this board actually has the new record, I implore you to do the wrong thing and leak it.
quarter23cd
1. "Song #1" - 2:54 2. "Joe #1" - 3:01 3. "Break-In" - 1:
DAngerer09
If anyone on this board actually has the new record, I implore you to do the wrong thing and leak it. I'm betting if someone, or even a handful of people, had it, it would be out there somewhere. Soulseek, oink, etc. I'm not sold anyone actually has it, other than that guy who said he had a European press copy.
welch79
ok, calexico, you are killing me with the comedy. i'm a relative newbie to these boards and don't remember you posting that much till all this sbs stuff was being leaked. anyway, all that to say, i hope your day job has something to do with comedy writing or humor. cheers.
