hazel
A lot of these songs feel Summerteeth-ish.agree
Smokestack Joe
Yes, what other people said. "Art of Almost" actually sounds like Radiohead..... weird. But in a way that is really cool and probably incidental. John has some great stuff going on.... holding together a bubbling cauldron of sounds. ha, i thought the same thing. good stuff
lost highway
"I might" sounds like a different song after "Art of Almost", it's almost like a relief. After constant tension for eight minutes you can just groove.
uncool2pillow
A lot of these songs feel Summerteeth-ish.Only up to Sunloathe, but it's definitely an ST kind of track. Echoey piano, subtle noise, emphasis on harmony and medley.
Excitable Boy
Capitol City has a major John Lennon/Mr. Kite vibe going on.
chisoxjtrain
Does anyone else think Capitol City has a "Broken Arrow" feel to it?
williamblanda
Capital City makes me wonder what Wilco would have sounded like if Jeff Tweddy was born around 1900.
tongue-tied lightning
Dawned On Me is fantastic.i'm a fan of this one

rhino4evr
This is why I didn't overplay I Might. Hearing it come on after AoA was a nice transition
williamblanda
Man, there are some beautiful songs on this album. Rising Red Lung is great.
explodo
I can't have an opinion on the record yet, but it does sound like the first time since Ghost that they've done what they're best at, which is to make these exceptionally dense and layered tracks sound like simple rock n' roll. Via Harvard
Love it so far, very fresh. Nice to have expectations met. Capitol City sounds like the Mr. Belvidere theme song, I love it.
Smokestack Joe
Black Moon sounds like a song Iron & Wine would do. wow, really great.

-seven
This is why I didn't overplay I Might. Hearing it come on after AoA was a nice transition Totally agree. I did the same and it sounded even better in the context of the album as a whole
Kalle
Black Moon is really one of the prettiest things they've ever done IMO.
lost highway
Black Moon is really one of the prettiest things they've ever done IMO. Totally. These are the best strings I've heard on a Wilco record. They sound so gritty and organic, you can hear the bows. On other albums they often sounded like an extra touch, but not so central to what you're hearing.
