tinnitus photography
i would be glad to see them play "Don't Fear The Reaper" again..i've never seen them do it. i could also see them taking on a Pavement song...maybe something like "Gold Soundz" or "Silence Kit" for the hell of it, i would like to see these: "Fearless" (Pat taking lead vocals) - Pink Floyd"Smash It Up (Pts 1 and 2)" - The Damned "Pink Frost" or "Dan Destiny and The Silver Dawn" - The Chills"Spiral Architect" - Black Sabbath (might be out of Tweedy's vocal range, but it would be awesome)"Couldn't You Wait" - Silkworm"Chicago At Night" - Spoon"Walking With Jesus" - Spacemen 3"River Guard" - Smog (Jeff solo)"Don't Fade On Me" - Magnolia Electric Co (it would reduce me to tears if they did any Molina song...i think they should)

Sweet Papa Crimbo
Something just hit me...an out of left field song choice that will allow some harmony singing and guitar crunching. Keep an open mind here folks... Heartache Tonight --- Eagles I think the boys could hit this one out of the park.
tinnitus photography
that would seriously be disappointing for me.

knotgreen
that would seriously be disappointing for me. that's how i feel about 99% of the suggestions here. i mean no offense to those recommending songs, but the last thing i want is for a night of wilco covering classic rock hits. a night of "deep tracks" or b-sides, however, would be pretty fantastic. RaspberryJam
I think it will be very interesting to see what they ultimately end up choosing. I would guess they will have to balance the weird, obscure, and seldom heard with some music that will be at least recognizable to the masses. Obviously they are up to not taking themselves too seriously with the whole concept, and sometimes it is fun to hear out-of-genre covers. I'll admit, the night I heard Moby play a few heavy metal covers was pretty enjoyable.

Yes , I agree.. The "stump the band" dare is a unique challenge ! I would chose California Man or Bodhisattva.... ( If'n I was awake before noon and camped out in front of the Stage ... )

I think people are just throwing out ideas hoping the band picks one or two from the hat.
