nalafej
What do you all think of the first song "I'll Sing It"? Loving the bass and vocals.
Head in a Guillotine
LOVE it. Lots of weird, interesting stuff going on in that song. Best part is that we get 19(!) more.
SteveMck
I really like the guitar riff/hook/melody - whatever it's called.Looking forward to hearing the rest of the record.
Heart full of holes
Nice! I like the weirdness too.
SarahC
Those background vocals are great! Now to learn all the words before the 24th.
theashtraysays
Very happy to hear Jeff's electric guitar again.
Glenn's Stick Bag
Really like it. So good to hear that voice again, singing a new song Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Mr. Heartbreak
Came here to post this, and it's already here! Very cool. Sounds good so far. Reminds me more of Loose Fur than Wilco, but I dig it.
worldrecordplayer
Sounds good, not at all what I was expecting from a Tweedy "solo" release. No idea why this is not a Wilco song, but what do I know?
linclink
I'm betting this means more tour dates in the Autumn too! Digging the new song, which is inspiring me to go-go to the Pittsburgh show!!!
SarahC
Also the album title is great. I feel like this song could fit in with the tunes on that Wilco Book disc- it's got that same kind of monochord buzzy vibe... if that makes sense? Excited to hear more- hope they drop a new song every week til the record is out.
choo-choo-charlie
Wow. Jeff hasn't released this many new songs at once since...1996?
Magnetized
Aaagh, I'm at the dentist and can't hear it. But so beautiful to name it after his true love and muse.
Robby
I made a big move to a different state 7 weeks ago - haven't changed residences in 25 years so it was a big thing. So many things still unsettled after nearly 2 months.I have to thank Mr. Tweedy & son for making me get my big butt down under my desk, on the hardwood floor and finally hooking up my PC speakers so I could listen to this.Love it.Kinda has a Corduroy Cutoff Girl vibe for me. linclink
Here's a great, more in depth, article about all of this: http://thefutureheart.com/2014/05/18/wilco-updates/
rhino4evr
I like the track, not blown away, but I am definitely excited for 19 new songs. I'm also happy that it isn't just a stripped down folk song, not that I don't enjoy the slower stuff. I'm just glad the album will have some more energy too it. Not what I was expecting
twoshedsjackson
It's...different. I'm only one listen in, so it's too soon to really tell. As others have stated, I'm excited to hear the other 19.
anthony
Wow. That was pretty badass. I really like it. Can't wait to hear more.
kidsmoke
Aaagh, I'm at the dentist and can't hear it. But so beautiful to name it after his true love and muse. I thought the same thing, Diane...how sweet that the album is named for Sue. Great song, huh? By now you've heard it I'm sure.
Magnetized
I thought the same thing, Diane...how sweet that the album is named for Sue. Great song, huh? By now you've heard it I'm sure. Oh, just a few times. . . . totally loving it and am beyond thrilled to get to see them in JUST 5 DAYS!!!
Cold as Gasoline
Love the new single. Busting with excitement to hear the rest of the album.
KevinG
I am probably in the minority, but I am a little underwhelmed by the single. It is kinda a mess and lacks flow. Maybe it is a grower. Still looking forward to the album and tour.
50footqueenie
I have it on good authority that the album consists of just 5 new songs and 15 remixes of 'Please Be Patient With Me'. This song reminds me of John Lennon for some reason though...
Albert Tatlock
First listening - not bad, not great. I hope the return of any bursts of 'weirdness' in sound is not just weirdness for its own sake.I hope it is not representative only in as much as I prefer albums with a large variety of sounds/styles, so would welcome this on the same album as a track that might sound like 'Open Mind'. Edit: It IS a grower ...
smells like flowers
Those background vocals are great! Now to learn all the words before the 24th. That shouldn't be too hard-- there are only a handful of words (including the yeah, yeah, yeahs).
