  1. Somebody uploaded this show recently, a Chicago radio station played this show back then and I taped it. I misplaced it ages ago - it nice to hear again. I think I like the present sounding Crowes more, though.
  2. Never heard of Pancake, before. He seems interesting, I will check my neighborhood book stores, today. It's been music bio's over the last few weeks.
  3. It's great that he is passing through Chicago and Lincoln Hall is a great venue, too.
  4. White Sox’ Mark Buehrle says he may have a few more years left (Sun-Times) Hopefully he sticks with the White Sox, too. One of my all time favorite players. Great quote:
  5. I always chuckle when I hear Dylan sings the below:
  6. Yeah, I missed them - stupid work computer with no speakers.
  7. Sounds good - you should put the info in LouieB's Going to Chicago thread. I can't remember the last time I was in Cicero.
  8. Did you make it to any of the days, Lou? We made it for a few hours Sat. afternoon. Nice crowd, decent music. Lot's of older people there, who sneaked in their beer which made me laugh a bit. A good mix of crowd, though. These guys will be playing here in Chicago on June 28th with Material re-Issue (formerly MaterialIssue) - a free show. Should be fun. I suppose I should write that I am drudging through an eight disc set of The Stones "Satanic Sessions". Some of it is interesting.
  9. All the speculation of who is the person who releases these soundboards is always fun to read.
  10. I agree. I wonder who hates torrent site more - the bootleggers or the artist? I have no idea what an original bootleg cost these days. I remember when I was in about 8th grade or so (1986) and bought a Stones bootleg for about $20 or so. I didn't know shit about bootlegs and when I brought it home and listened to it is sounded pretty horrible. I think it was an 81 Meadowlands audience show. I haven't bought one since. Of course it had a "No Return Sticker", which I don't blame the record store for.
  11. Yeah, I checked his Wiki page after I posted - he had quite the retirement.
  12. Lenny Dykstra charged with drug possession, car theft Use to enjoy watching him and his tobacco play. Other news, Jake Peavy probably back on the DL - for the love of God.....
  13. Ian Hunter: The truth about Mott the Hoople, the drugs and the manager with a death wish - The Independant I don't know squat about Mott The Hoople/Hunter - good interview. Found it interesting that he lives in Connecticut, like Keith Richards. I wonder how many more aging English rockers are living there?
  14. Got the below from the DMG Newsletter for June 3rd, 2011 - should be great.
  15. Maybe he should stick to general managing my niece's t-ball team. I do admire him for sticking up for his player, though. On a side note, hopefully the White Sox can keep it going against the Tigers this weekend.
  16. I agree with everything you wrote, except I wouldn't call it a cheap shot. Cousin's didn't know that Posey wasn't going to catch it cleanly, so he had to go in hard and try to knock the ball out.
  17. The throw was a little off mark. Cousins was well within the baseline, might of went towards the front of the plate, where Posey was, a bit, but still a clean hard slide. It's unfortunate that Posey was injured.
  18. Pierzynski nearly falls into president's lap (whitesox.com link) He should have caught it.
  19. I think I have to agree with anthonyc007, Blood on the Tracks is my favorite of Dylan's, followed by John Wesley Harding. Of course, my favorites change weekly.
  20. Nice to see the White Sox sweep the Indians. Asdrubal Cabrera made a hell of a play last night. MLB Video
  21. Great set of music, plus always has been one of my favorite album covers.
  22. I am about half way through Skydog: The Duane Allman Story - a lot of info/stories regarding studios in Muscle Shoals. It's a good read, thus far.
