Pretty much every word out of his mouth insults Jesus. If not by name, by message.

But your negative attention feeds the beast! The more he and his supporters are chastised, the more they dig in their heels.

He's an asshat who will not be the Republican nominee and gives us all an opportunity to feel morally superior. He's eminently quotable I the worst way possible, so the media bites. I'm fairly certain he doesn't believe half the shit he says but knows it will get him more of the attention he so desperately craves. We're helping feed the beast.

Any examples you can cite from the last 35 years?

Any attempt to restrict gun purchases is dismissed out of hand by the NRA.

If every act has a rationale, then Friday's attack was no different than the attack on Charlie Hebdo in terms of rationale. He was clearly delineating a measurable difference between the attacks. And thanks for your support on the other point.

The NRA is the voice of gun manufacturers as much, if not more, as it is of gun owners. Profit is driving the NRA as much as any political point of view. Anheuser-Busch couldn't give two shits about minors and alcoholics buying their product and the NRA couldn't give two shits about who is buying guns.

And to throw a bone to my right-wing tendencies, this statement is worthy of calling for his resignation. http://www.cnn.com/2015/11/17/politics/john-kerry-charlie-hebdo-rationale/

This whole topic and the way it's played out on social media has made me quite sad. Say what you will about W., after 9/11 he made it quite clear that Islam was not the enemy. Has any GOP candidate said anything like that since Paris? I understand people's fears about terrorists coming into this country's quite porous borders, but coming over as a refugee would be about the most cumbersome way to do it. Of all the articles I've read in the past 5 days, this might make me the angriest. I don't care about your general views on gun control, you cannot claim to be strong on terror and turn a bli

I'm nearly done with Patton Oswalt's Silver Screen Fiend.

I saw Red Headed Stranger open at Val Air then, but Nels did nothing with Wilco.

Kevin, are you attacking each with the same fervor and glee? If not, outside of you political affiliations, why not?

Today I am in the Twin Cities for the first time in 6-7 years. Going to the Vikings game tomorrow. God, I love this town! I have my stroke-ridden dad with me, so we're already back at the hotel, but still...

It certainly matters more for a man like Ben Carson who cloaks himself in religion and want to use his faith as a basis of national policy. If more dishonesty comes out, I think he will go back down in the polls. One of the attractions of Sanders and Trump is that their followers believe they "tell it like it is". On another note, I'm really surprised Christie didn't get a bump from the last debate and has even been excluded from the next. I thought he gave one of the strongest, if not the strongest, performances.

I listened a couple of hours ago. I like it a lot.

This would be more entertaining side-by-side as Prince is 5' 2".

Saw Love & Mercy. I really enjoyed it. Both Dano and Cusack were great. Cusack had some interesting quirks that made me forget he doesn't look a damn thing like Wilson.

Jay Farrar has some things to say about Jeff Tweedy
uncool2pillow replied to sonnyfeeling's topic in Just A Fan
It's pretty well-documented that Farrar did not like Jeff's growing influence over the band, so Jeff getting a bit snarky is pretty understandable. Having said that, it's also pretty well-documented that Jeff didn't appreciate Jay Bennett's growing influence in Wilco and sacked him. My point? No one is blameless for what happened in UT and I think history makes it clear that the sum was no longer greater than the parts and it was probably a good thing for the both of them that UT ended.- 21 replies

The moderating sucked, not because of liberal bias, though I think there were elements of it. The moderating sucked because they had repeatedly stupid questions. I hate Cruz, but thought it was a great opportunity to score valid points. I really want to like Kasich, and expected him to come out a bit more fiery than he did. A big disappointment. Lots of people seem to think Rubio came out ahead, but as people begin to look into his personal finances, any bump he gets will be short-lived. I think this debate did the most for Christie and the least for Carson, Trump, and Bush; especially Trump.

I tried using Shazam and cutting it off before the proper song began. It came up Magazine Called Sunset. It sounds like some of the non Simon & Garfunkel cha cha stuff from The Graduate soundtrack, but it's not.

It was for me. I was one of the few Iowans to caucus for McCain in 2008, but when he picked Palin as his running mate, I could not pull the trigger for an elderly cancer survivor.

I would love to see Joe Walsh sometime. I don't want to pay to see the Eagles but he doesn't seem to come to Iowa solo.

I hope they can get their shit together enough to remaster/remix the Husker catalog. No interest in seeing them tour though.
