"The Whole Love" in my mailbox today (Sep 22)
sonicshoulder replied to samuel70's topic in Just A Fan
You are getting hosed. I did the cheap ass $5 vinyl preorder and got mine the saturday before the actual release date. -
They are showing up on Ebay all over now and going for significantly less. Guessing there was an initial panic on the $380 one.

I haven't been this upset at a concert since Blame it on the Rain started skippin. I was 3 people away from the merch table when the guy in front bought the last 3...yeah I said 3. I would estimate at least half of the people walking away, if buying posters, had bought at least 2. It was ridiculous. Up until Saturday I was unaware of the lure of these official Hatch Show prints. I really couldn't care less who made it. The only shows I buy posters at are my WIlco shows and looks like this one will go unrepresented. The number floating around was they had made 200. I made sure I got there early

Starbucks?

Two great shows. Nick Lowe was tremendous.Wilco threw curveball opening songs for both nights to start. Diverse, fluid setlests. Band looked to really be enjoying themselves, especially when Nick Lowe took the stage for the encores. Nels's new guitar sounded amazing. Wonderful venue. The poster situation really did suck though. They should have put a limit for individuals. Saturday I got shut out. Got there early. Was 3 people away from the merch booth and some guy bought the last 3. I would estimate at least half the people buying posters were buying more than one judging from my time in line.

I may make an appearence but can't promise anything because I'll be with three other domesticated males who are itching just as much if not worse than I to breath the air of freedom and debauchery for the 3 days that out wives are allowing us to. Besides the 2 shows there will be no time restraints!!!!!!!(except for fantasy football lineup deadline of course)

Funny this comes up because about a week ago I was showing the inside of Evil Urges to a buddy becasue he asked me which of my records art I liked most. As a whole it definitely wouldn't be my favorite but the inside part is. If you dont own the vinyl its just two glass eyes in their cases on each side of the gate. I tried unsuccessfully to find the image on the google machine.

Pretty funny. That Bonnie Raitt cover is by far the worse. I always kinda liked the "pubes" cover bu then again I was 14 when it came out.
-
Just go ahead and pick up the rest of the catalog. AGIB and Yankee are necessities for me on vinyl. Then you'll be dying to here what ST and BT sound like, then you're half way and still haven't heard Dash 7 or On and On and On so you pick up AM and SBS....you see where I'm goin here.
-
I hear Abbey Road.
-
The good thing about this article for me was it wasn't really comparing the two bands musically, which drives me crazy. I just don't hear it and never have. I agree with Jeff, it's just something people say who aren't really familiar with either bands work.
-
I will put the over/under on the cost of that video at $14. Also apparrently Nick's dad's name is Drain,is that a common name for a bloke over there.
-
Choosing the Yankee or AGIB section is impossible for me. I could ponder to no end.
-
Now you get it. I've been cracking up watching you go back and forth with the more argumentative sect of this board. Its kinda like the old hockey game/fight expression around here except its more like "I went to an argument fan site and a civil Wilco conversation broke out"

Romo has great numbers, but is good. For me he'll be great when and if he can get to the playoffs and WIN.
-
Gee thanks
-
Allright we can do this!!! I'm goina go ahead and put one in for "Its Just That Simple" for night two in Nashville if someone can give me some help on "On and On and On" for night one. I know its not exactly a "rocker" but I really wanna hear it live, might make a good encore entry...and that has to be at least a tie for the most "on's" typed in one sentence. Don't let Bea down.

"The Whole Love" in my mailbox today (Sep 22)

I would say if you murdered this entire family or group a good judge would take it down to a couple years with good behavior after hearing this story. -
According to Kung Fu(Home of Outrageous Shipping Charges), my vinyl shipped yesterday via USPS.
-
I have a feeling this was caused by my barrage of e-mails telling them how fucked up it is to put out a vinyl without a download ticket or cd.

You are going to have a blast tonight!

One Sunday Morning (Song For Jane Smiley's Boyfriend)
sonicshoulder replied to ViaBuffalo's topic in Just A Fan
She doesn't seem to be offended at all that Jeff Tweedy...member of an "alt-rock" group stole her boyfriends soul over brunch. If I was Jane Smiley, and whats to say I'm not, I would be pissed. -
Well, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little choked up but honored none the less for the time we spent together.
