I voted too! Felt good. Even got the judges thing done right this go around.

Same exact thing happened with me.

Phil Collins is going back on tour. Seems like a good fit.

Desert trip weekend #2 last night. He switched up his set from #1 and did play Like a Rolling Stone (no guests). Setlist looks very nice.

Album was officially released yesterday. Just thought I'd mention. Streaming on Spotify. -
"Purity" by Jonathan Franzen. It's well written so far.

You'll enjoy the venue. It is a really good looking place.

Lampedusa: concert for refugees Emmylou Harris, Steve Earle, Buddy Miller, The Milk Carton Kids, Ruby Amanfu and Robert Plant. Should be interesting

I saw a movie in a theater for the first time in a long time yesterday: Deepwater Horizon Lots of action and drama and explosions and if that is your kind of thing you will be entertained. The event itself, of course, is such a tragedy and I felt awful for everyone on the rig the entire movie. It definitely lays the blame on BP. I found it interesting that there was no mention of government regulations etc. On a side note: 22 minutes of previews and $12.50 for a ticket make going to the movies a really obnoxious undertaking.

Other ideas: Full album play (as already mentioned...play Being There) All acoustic Cover an entire album by somebody else (as Phish has done on halloween shows) Symphony & Wilco (as many other bands have done - MMJ, Metallica) In the round on Joe's Field

On the Outlaw Country station. Recorded at the SiriusXM studios. 11pm EST Monday 8am EST Tuesday If I Ever Was a Child Streaming now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4bQ6h0DPuHQ I thought there was a thread for this taping already, but I couldn't find it so maybe I made that up.

Stones' setlist looked good on paper too. Too bad they didn't guest during each other's set and interesting that neither played Like a Rolling Stone.
-
Great find. Thanks for sharing. I think this is the first high quality footage of them performing many of these songs. Really cool. I never would have guessed that The Joke Explained would be THE carryover song from SW. Not my favorite but liking it more with each live performance.

I love that you looked up the vote totals but not all the candidates names. I too have no idea who Nader's running mate was and am not going to spend another 20 seconds googling it.

Wilco playing Big Ears Festival in Knoxville TN March 23-26

On Fillmore AND Glenn Kotche are also on the bill. Lots of friends of the band too: Tortoise, Sir Richard Bishop, Joan Shelley, Julian Lage, Deerhoof. Looks great. -
I wanted to like this and just didn't. Same with his Wilco book to tell you the truth. He comes at them a little too much like a reporter and not a story teller imo

Request a song is back on wilcoworld! Let the rigging begin...

Glenn is doing something Friday. "a collaborative, sensory driven party curated by Jason Hammel and Glenn Kotche of Wilco, playing with flavors and sounds" "the Chicago chef and rock musician curated several courses throughout the evening that play on different senses, tastes, tonal frequencies and even color palettes." At first I thought it was the Cubs' Hammel! http://www.chicago.tastetalks.com/master-schedule/2016/9/30/opening-party-presented-by-opentable

Has the dad rock descriptor turned in to and semi ironic statement? Seems to be used in a nice way here...
-
Why would he do that? I guess putting out a third record under his own name doesn't generate as much interest?

spoiler alert

Interesting that they flat out say that the black vinyl sounds better. Am I the only one with orange vinyl that thinks it sounds right?

It's Steven Hyden. It was a good read. I mentioned this somewhere else, but I think he goes after the hot take a little too hard by saying that the YHF demos are better than the actual album.
