Once there was a shock

that left behind a long, shimmering comet tail.

It keeps us inside. It makes the TV pictures snowy.

It settles in cold drops on the telephone wires.

One can still go slowly on skis in the winter sun

through brush where a few leaves hang on.

They resemble pages torn from old telephone directories.

Names swallowed by the cold.

It is still beautiful to hear the heart beat

but often the shadow seems more real than the body.

The samurai looks insignificant

beside his armor of black dragon scales.

There is unknown dust that is near us

Waves breaking on shores just over the hill

Trees full of birds that we have never seen

Nets drawn with dark fish.

The evening arrives; we look up and it is there

It has come through the nets of the stars

Through the tissues of the grass

Walking quietly over the asylums of the waters.

The day shall never end we think:

We have hair that seemed born for the daylight;

But at last the quiet waters of the night will rise

And our skin shall see far off as it does under water.

Jeff

I'm pretty sure we all wish we could do something more than just leave a message with our condolences, but that's the burden of the internet. However, I'm positive we are all sorry for your loss and we wish you and your family the best.

A Mother's Love

Forever in her heart

She walks with you

Through the seasons

For every Season

There is a Reason

A purpose, A time

For everything

Under the Heavens

My heart and prayers go out to you and your family and loved ones.

I pray you find peace, love and understanding in this time.

When my aunt passed (my 2nd mama) I was with her as death came upon her,

what I had feared wasn't what I felt, I felt peace for her and myself.

I still talk to her most days and share with her my joys, pain and life in general.

I pray I will have this peace when my mama leaves, she is my best friend in this world.

I hope you know your mama will be with you always Jeff, you can still share your life with her as you always done.

She smiles upon you from the heavens above.... Please take care!!

Dear Jeff & family,

No words can offer enough comfort to completely take away the pain of your loss, but I hope all of the well wishes, prayers, and good thoughts from the Viachicago community help a little. Your mother's memory will be kept alive through all of your beautiful music. Your music has helped me through the many deaths and hard times I've experienced over the past four years, so I know it has healing powers.

My sincerest and warmest condolences.

Sincerely,

Scott

I'm so sorry, Jeff. From what I've seen, your mom was always superbly kind and friendly to all the strangers she must have met over the the years of being music mom - I'm sure that extended to all who met her. And now so many more people share in your loss. My thoughts are with you and your family.

I'm so very sorry, Jeff. Nothing can ever prepare you to lose your mom, but her love will always be with you (and with all of us, through your music). I hope that you will feel it reflected back every time you connect with an audience and bring you some comfort.

Make me a bed of fond memories

Make me to lie down with a smile

Everything that rises afterward falls

But all that dies has first to live.

As longing becomes love

As night turns to day

Everything changes

Joy will find a way.

Thinking of you and your family.

*hugs*
