theashtraysays
Today I cancelled my landline phone. We've had the same phone number for the past 25 years.... but nostalgia just isn't worth $37/month these days, so the cord has been cut.
caliber66
Today I will call Verizon for the seventh time trying to get my new cable boxes and router to work properly.
caliber66
Today on my seventh call with Verizon since August 8, I learned that they have sent me the wrong router. This is after sending the (wrong, right, who knows?) router to the wrong address at least twice.
caliber66
I also discovered, while typing up a detailed history to Verizon customer service, that this was actually at least the ninth time I called them in the last 28 days.
NoJ
Today I'm wondering how couscous mixed with black beans will taste. Only one way to find out....
caliber66
Go to the Moroccan-Salvadoreño fusion restaurant down the block?
NoJ
My test kitchen determined that the juice of one lemon mixed into the couscous/black bean dish made it super delicious. Also, it amazes me that the caterpillar for the yellow eastern swallowtail butterfly is so different from its recessive brethren, the black eastern swallowtail. NoJ
That's right, Sport. The butterfly bush in my backyard. They don't call it a butterfly bush for nothing ya know. Its some sorta hybrid so it doesn't produce seeds.

Chez
Today I can't get "Locator" out of my head. All day. And it's awesome.
sonicshoulder
Which is worse? Robbing a place with a tattooed face or having a tattooed face and robbing a place. Also, what is the average amount of time it takes to catch a guy with a tattooed face compared to a robber with an untattooed face?
John Smith
Having a tattooed face might make employment difficult necessitating robbery as a vocation.

NoJ
Today I did some reading into Charles Whitman, the Austin clock tower sniper. Prior to this, I knew nothing about the man and the circumstances surrounding his actions. Come to find out his motivations MAY have been caused by a brain tumor. Charles himself was baffled by his thoughts, rage and actions, according to his writings and suicide note. What an entirely sad situation for everyone involved. Charles himself was baffled by his thoughts, rage and actions, according to his writings and suicide note. What an entirely sad situation for everyone involved. He had been seeing a shrink for his anger issues, too, and even told the shrink he wanted to go up to the observatory to kill people. Whitman also stabbed his mother and wife to death the night before the rampage on campus.
calvino
Recently I saw a piece on TV about a new documentary on the Austin shooting. Haven't seen the documentary, yet - but it looks very interesting. http://www.nytimes.com/2016/10/12/movies/tower-review-mass-shootings.html?_r=0 All the cuts in mental health in the state of Illinois and throughout the country and the relative ease of obtaining guns, it's a wonder that this type of stuff doesn't happen more often (obviously shootings happen too often as it is...)
