"Immediately after the election Trump transition spokesman Jason Miller explained that Melania would be staying in New York because there was "obviously a sensitivity to pulling out a 10-year-old in the middle of the school year".

We have since learned that the cost of security for Melania and Barron to remain at Trump Tower is $183 million/year. There is also no indication that they will actually move to DC this summer. So in essence the Federal government is giving the Trump family a $183 million annual voucher so Barron can attend the elite private prep school of his choice.

Meanwhile, we learned last night that Trump's budget would completely eliminate funding for the National Endowment for the Arts. The NEA, with an annual budget of only $148 million, is able to provide seed money for arts programming in literally every Congressional district in the country.

So, on the one hand you have a $183 million school voucher for a single 10-year-old at an elite private school. On the other hand you have a program that impacts arts and cultural programming throughout the entire nation."

As correct and outrageous this is, this will never convince anyone who wants to get rid of the NEA, PBS, etc.

In the minds of many ultra right conservatives (which the GOP is now nominated by) it is not government's place to fund the arts.  Getting rid of the NEA etc. has nothing to do with money.  It has all to do with the purpose of government.

Pretty savvy for them to kill off both the elderly AND the poor. Business-wise, at least.

I's almost unfathomable how deep we have sunk in such a brief presidency. We HAVE to get him gone.

It hasn't even been two full months, yet it feels like an eternity since he was inaugurated. It's exhausting. He's exhausting.

Cliche at this point, but all of us knew that Trump would do exactly the opposite of what he was promising. The biggest irony is that the only real big thing the government has done in the last decades that is helpful to citizens is Obamacare. This from the president that was blamed for everything. Remember the death panels (lol)? Trump is just dispensing with this step and going straight to death.

Will this be a wake up call for the people that have been lied to for decades, held hostage by social issues that will never be changed and having no bearing on their lives? Will they realize that the Left are not the baby killers, coming for their stuff and taking their guns but are the people that actually care about them?

One of the worst things we ever did as a civilization thousands of years ago was the decision to make health care a for profit industry

Another one of the worst decisions we made was to set up a system where we are the only species that have to pay to live on the planet! WTF!

Spicer actually downplayed Paul Manafort's role in the Trump campaign?  He was the freaking campaign chairman for like 6 months!

My spidey senses think there's something new about to come out about one Mr. Manafort.

Manafort's daughter sent emails to her sister about their dad's involvement in killings in the Ukraine. That came to light because those emails were hacked. I think Manafort is involved in shady shit all the way up to his eyeballs.

I just read that the FBI had to respond, and correct Trump's misleading tweets about the case mid-hearing. Live tweets. This is what our country is coming to. Officials are fact checking the president's social media live in court.

That was pretty amazing and awesome.

What will it take for the faithful to realize that the president and them, are relying on shit news sources and that the president is not a critical thinker, which the right has disdained for years, who is leading them down a path laid with bad information.

According to the GOP it is more important to trace the leak then be concerned with collusion with Russia. All of them are traitors!

With Gowdy being one of the worst. Do some fact checking on him, I believe he's the one who leaked the name of a CIA officer during the Benghazi hearings. Now he's whining about Ryan being "unmasked" while Russia has likely infiltrated the White House. Beyond pathetic.

Fox called out the wire tap claim as false BEFORE Trump did. Crazy. I also saw a headline from an unreliable online source saying they're booting Judge Nepolitano (sp?). I'd love to corroborate that.

Could Fox be going the way of George W where you think you like them for a minute because they appear slightly less awful?

GWB is awful.  Never forget that he was one of the worst presidents in modern history.  He only seems less terrible compared to Trump.

On his most recent episode, John Oliver brought up an excellent Trump quote from his Art of the Deal book:

"You can't con people, at least not for long. You can create excitement, you can do wonderful promotion, you can get all kinds of press... but if you don't deliver the goods, people will eventually catch on."

Yep.

I love this piece from MSNBC today:

http://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/trump-picks-the-wrong-slogan-promises-made-promises-kept

"Promises made, promises kept."  Jesus, one of the most offensive things about the President is he thinks the American People are stupid.

At sometime the con will have to be discovered.  Usually it will happen when someone is hurt real bad or suffers a great loss.

Trump is really just doing what he's always done. One of his "tricks" during his casino building phase was to bring in lots of trucks (like a kid in a sandbox) to make a lot of noise. Literally. They would dig holes and fill them in, because he wanted people to think he was making progress.

That's exactly what his travel ban is: Lots of trucks making noise and doing nothing.
