Politics 2016 (election edition)
The Inside of Outside replied to lost highway's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Agreed. I watched just over 5 minutes of Debate #2. I am embarrassed to live in a country that has these two as the final candidates for President. As an educator, it is clear that Trump's behavior is worse than a kindergartener. No teacher would put up with it from 5-year-olds, so why do the moderators? Seriously, if a candidate interrupts, you give them a warning that they will lose their alloted time. If they interrupt again, they lose some time to speak. If they keep doing it, they lose more. After the fifth time or so, you give a final warning. The next interruption, you remove the candid -

The Official Bob Dylan Thread
The Inside of Outside replied to RainDogToo's topic in Someone Else's Song
So, so glad I did not pay $80 to see Dylan this past summer. I would have been ripped with the set list he has been playing for the past year compared to this one. -
Thrilled with the choice of dates, unless we get gobs of snow days and our school year gets pushed back.

I love Rockpile. I wish I had had a chance to see them live.
-
I really liked The Things They Carried. Plainsong, and all of the other Kent Haruf books, are gems.

Wolf Hollow is a solid YA book. Better than many I have read, not as good as some. I work in a middle school now, so I'll be reading more YA titles. I understand the mental block on YA books; I find I am more critical of them than other books. My own bias, I guess.

That sounds right - I think it may have been more unofficial/informal. And now I just found it back in this thread - it was a response from Tony that an announcement would be coming this month. I got my hopes up. Time to come back down to earth and wait patiently.

Love Garp - is that in the classic pile, or the modern pile? Now reading:

My memory is lousy these days - we did get a communication from Wilco saying that info on Solid Sound 2017 was coming in September, right? If so, they have 1 hour and 45 minutes left to get that info out. Even just a tweet with the dates, or an updated SS website with the dates would be appreciated.

RS-Glan Kotche #82 all time best drummer
The Inside of Outside replied to thejokeexplained's topic in Just A Fan
I have a hard time believing there are 81 drummers better than Glenn. But I'm just a fan of dad rock, so what do I know? -
Every time this thread gets bumped to the top, I'm thinking there's news....

Love the Ross tribute. He's a pretty classy player.
-
I saw him win a tournament in 1986. He was the man, even though I was a Nicklaus fan growing up. The crowd went wild for him.
-
I loved the first (and only) Bash and Pop record. Way, way underrated.
-
Might be a grower, might not. I like it so far. I don't love it yet. Maybe my expectations were off - I expected more country from this f#$^ed up country album.

Schmilco arrived here minutes ago. Sorry, Beltmann, that you have to wait until Monday.

How do you listen to your music during the day?
The Inside of Outside replied to remphish1's topic in Someone Else's Song
CDs, vinyl, mp3s, Spotify, a little Pandora - a bit of everything.
