  1. That was a lot of fun. I was not planning to go, as I had to work. My wife surprised me with a bracelet for this at breakfast (it was a birthday present - nothing like seeing your favorite band twice on your birthday), and she picked me up at work at lunchtime. I thought I was going with her, but she dropped me off at Bull Moose, where I met up with two neighbors. The 7 songs were really well done, especially given that they were crammed on a small stage in a record store. As many of you can attest from past experience meeting them, the band members were super gracious during the signing t
  2. I am with those who prefer the GA venues. None of this stand up/sit down business. Just stand up and rock! The vibe should be very different in Portland tomorrow night with the GA set up.
  3. ^^^^^This answers one of the original questions in this thread (Will they continue to play Star Wars in its entirety to lead off shows? When will they hit the road in '16? Where will they tour as they continue to plug Star Wars? Will another record be released?). I guess question #3 is likely not fully answered yet. And I really doubt a yes for #4. Can't wait for Wednesday at the State Theatre!
  4. It is an excellent analogy if Cespedes was in the twilight of his career. And if anyone outside of this message board understood it.
  5. Bummer. Pretty young, too, at 67. The Eagles were part of the soundtrack of my youth, as I had two older sisters who were (and are) fanatics.
  6. Saw Brooklyn yesterday - loved it. Loved the book, too.
  7. ^^^^I understood exactly none of that. Well, I understood that a Mr. Nevin refereed something, but other than that, I got nothing.
  8. That is a great solo setlist. I love seeing a Star Wars song on it, and the Golden Smog run of songs (four!) is pretty cool. Consider me jealous.
  9. A great advertisement for Powerball - each person's $20 investment yielded 80 cents.
  10. I had Pin Ups on LP years ago. I remember it being generally panned by critics, but I liked most of it.
  11. ^^^That trailer is pretty cool. He was a shape-shifter alright. I saw him live three times (Glass Spider, Sound+Vision, and Outside tours), and each was radically different.
  12. That is what I remember, too. The solo in Cat People is vintage SRV.
  13. That is very cool - owls are fascinating. Glad your kids were able to see them. I have a good friend who has an excellent owl call. When we camp every summer with him, he conjures up an owl or two every time.
  14. Ren's voice was a highlight. That sounds funny (no pun) but it is true - the effects on his voice were fantastic.
  15. I saw it for a second time today. I think I liked it better than the first time. I caught some little things that I missed the first time, and I paid more attention to some of the minor characters this time around. I took one of my daughters, who is not a big SW fan. She really liked it. She says she is definitely going to see the next one. Consider her hooked.
  16. I thought he was pretty good live. He is an interesting guitar player to watch. His vocals were mushy when I saw him - couldn't understand any of it. Never saw his face, either - his hair covered his face the whole time. That was a little disconcerting. Overall, a good show, though.
  17. I have had a blast every time I have seen them. Enjoy!
