Muzzle of Dan
Just called Livenation and they were not helpful at all. They said that I'm stuck with the tickets we got because you can't exchange presale tickets for regular onsale tickets because they are allotted differently or some excuse I didn't enjoy very much. I asked the guy why I spent an hour and half searching only to come up with crappy seats (in the back) and he said it's because the best seats aren't included in the presale. I asked him what the purpose of participating in the presale was and he said it's basically just an extra opportunity to make sure you get tickets. He said there was no exchange or refund of any kind I could get with my presale tickets. I'm really glad I get to go see 2 of my favorite bands play with Dylan, but I certainly wish I would have realized what a scam this Lamenation presale was going to turn out to be. Definitely looking forward to seeing this show but also looking forward to Wilco and MMJ playing more GA shows at smaller venues in the future.

There is nothing in that language that says presales are different from regular sales.
Guest Jules
Yeah, I went back in as if I were going to buy more tickets, and the better seats behind the pit (central) were $215 each. What a scam. Why is it a scam? The price?

They said that I'm stuck with the tickets we got because you can't exchange presale tickets for regular onsale tickets because they are allotted differently or some excuse I didn't enjoy very much. As I mentioned in one of my prior posts, they couldn't do the exchange for me either, but he was more than willing to refund mine and waited while I was on the phone with him to make sure I could buy the seats I wanted before he cancelled the first ones. If I were you I would just try calling back and getting someone different that knows what he's talking about.

I had to bitch for awhile, but the guy I was talking with when I called again finally acknowledged the refund policy and cancelled our initial order. Now we can start again with the regular onsale and try when the better seats go onsale.
Mr. Heartbreak
He said there was no exchange or refund of any kind I could get with my presale tickets. I would advise anyone on the board to watch out for this kind of B.S. from customer service reps. That is NOT the way credit cards work. If you decide you want to cancel a credit card order, the company has to give you a refund and make the seats available for another buyer. If they refuse, you can call your credit card company, tell them you do not authorize the purchase, and they will do it for you.Lots of helpful people on this thread, but not at LameNation (great nickname, by the way, thanks!). Guest Jules
So you should lie to the credit card company?

Lots of helpful people on this board indeed. You're welcome for the name - it was a gift from the great subconcious in a moment of mental fury. EDIT - Thanks for keeping me on my toes Jules. Mr. Heartbreak
So you should lie to the credit card company? If LiveNation is lying to you, and refuses to cancel your order - which is illegal - then of course you should do what it takes to make sure that you, the consumer, get refunded your money. We don't really need to go down that road in this thread, do we?Regarding my other post about prices being a scam: yeah, it's crazy that I got a $100 ticket in the pit and people who will be seated behind me will pay $215 for their seat. Oh well, sucks to be them, but jeez. That ain't right.
theashtraysays
The magic words for dealing with any call center agent who isn't getting you what you think you should be getting are "may I speak to a supervisor". That will get you up a notch, usually to someone who will see things eye to eye with you or at least can articulate why you don't deserve whatever you think you do. It's not an insult to the agent, and it's not "impolite" or rude assuming you just keep cool and simply say what you want. It's just part of the process. There are layers in the structure, and the first layer doesn't always have a consistent set of people or personal attitudes. Sometimes the first layer's job is to say no, which will work 90% of the time... you usually hear things like "I'm not authorized to do that" when that happens. If they're in the US, they're working for close to minimum wage and usually have high turnover. If it's not in the US, same things apply and then you have culture gaps to deal with (some good, some not). If that doesn't work, there's usually an escalation point like an ombudsman or the supervisor's supervisor or some kind of customer specialist. That can take a day or two. At that point, you'll know what the company's real culture and attitude are, and if they're interesting in working with you or not.

What a scam.LiveNation sucks balls. I guess I will stick with the GA pit. If I have to take a break, I'll squirm out and go sit down somewhere. Any Tampa Bay area folks here know that Live Nation Ampitheatre (formerly the Ford Ampitheatre)? I am curious as to how many of us they will cram into that GA pit area. Time to buy a cushion I can stuff down the back of my pants in case they won't let us bring such things in. Think you going be happy - Weir has been added to the Tampa bill..... Weir is only playing the first few shows. Too bad only the first few. Everybody better be quiet while he's playing, too. sonicshoulder
I just paid $43 to see Wilco, Jacket, and Bob freakin Dylan. That's a $200 concert ticket if I've ever seen one.
Turnips
it's a good deal for sure, but I really wish they would start these shows earlier and max out the set lengths, I'd have no problem taking the afternoon off work for a 2pm start!
Boots
I just paid $68 total for 4 lawn seats at Deer Creek. Awesome early bird deal

Beltmann
I just scored "GAPIT ROW1" tickets at Toyota Park when they went on sale this morning! Congrats! I also was offered standing pit for Toyota Park, but my wife and I are too old for that these days. Turned them down and got row 6 of the first seated section. Sounds perfect. Beltmann
I've never been to Toyota Park. Anybody willing to say whether the stadium seats (on the sides) provide a nicer experience (better view, etc.) than floor seats?
lost highway
I must confess, I don't think I'll go to this. It's hard for me to shell out more cash to see two bands I see every year in worse seats, just for an opportunity to see someone I would have rather seen twenty or thirty years ago. That said, I'm sure everyone will have a blast. It's freaking Wilco and My Morning Jacket. They never phone it in.

This'll be like a normal work day for me,
