bböp
GOOD NEWS: Some European dates starting to surface for on sale at the end of this week. BAD NEWS: They're not until NOVEMBER 2016 FFS!!!!Yikes, bloody hell! I see a date at the Volkshaus in Zurich for 15 November *2016*, btw. Wtf? Hard to believe they won't do some other (earlier) Spanish dates at least around that already-announced fest, but still... Here's a link for the Zurich date, fwiw (and in German):http://www.allblues.ch/Wilco/1822

bböp
Give's you plenty of time to plan your trip... I guess, but damn I've never been a fan of bands announcing (and selling tickets) for shows more than a year in advance. I guess that's somewhat par for the course in most of the world, though. It's starting to get that way over here, too.

Albert Tatlock
Brixton:- GBP 40.50*(inc. GBP 4.50 fees)plus delilvery charge. The O2 Academy Brixton deserves its reputation as one of London's best venues. Despite its size the sloping floor means you get a great view from pretty much anywhere. Magnetized
Among the things that this European schedule is telling me is that we should not expect late fall tour dates in the United States. We know that Wilco tend to stick close to home around the Christmas holidays. So maybe there might be another Chicago run in December?

Here's a link for the Zurich date, fwiw (and in German):http://www.allblues.ch/Wilco/1822 I was thinking the same thing about Spain, but it could be that they can't announce dates there yet due to some contractual obligation to the festival promoters. Personally, if I have a choice between a festival in my town and a theater show an hour away I'd go to the theater show. Oh, who am I kidding? I'd go to both... Albert Tatlock
If sales go well they should tag on a second night in London. Then on the first they can do a run through of Star Wars, and on the second do the same for the new album they would just have brought out by then
lost highway
It's crazy to see shows on the calendar that are over a year away. These guys plan ahead. I wonder if this increases, or decreases the odds of the quicker Star Wars followup that Tweedy hinted at.
nalafej
It's crazy to see shows on the calendar that are over a year away. These guys plan ahead. What are the odds that the band is still the same 6 musicians by the time they do this tour?
tblair
I can't remember the last time I bought a ticket for something more than a year ahead.... If sales go well they should tag on a second night in London. Then on the first they can do a run through of Star Wars, and on the second do the same for the new album they would just have brought out by then whenever I've seen them do 2 shows, it's always been like one long show broken up with a day long interval
jff
So, I got my tickets the day of general onsale. I got two tickets on the front row of the balcony, and there was a third seat next to us at the end of the row. That seat was still available yesterday, so I bought it for a friend. I realize single reserved seats are harder to sell than two or more seats together, but it's baffling to me that there was still a seat on the front row of the balcony a week and a half after tickets went on sale. For a band that typically sells out significantly larger venues.
lost highway
What are the odds that the band is still the same 6 musicians by the time they do this tour? I'd say high. The line-up has been pretty stable. Or wait, do you mean qualitatively the same? Like they'll be different people having lived for another year?

kwhitehead
What are the odds that the band is still the same 6 musicians by the time they do this tour? Hmm, I often wonder about this. Part of me thinks that Nels will be the first one to move on. He seems to me like someone who's always looking to branch out. I wonder what's his impetus for sticking around. As for the rest, I can't see it unless Jeff decides that should be the case. After all, he's the boss. Do you know something we don't, nalafej?
jff
Nels's impetus for sticking around is that 1. he likes the music and the people in the band, 2. it affords him the financial ability to pursue music projects that don't make money, 3. it affords him the down time needed in order to branch out, 4. it allows him to buy a bunch of cool as shit guitars, and live a generally comfortable lifestyle. I think at this point, if Nels leaves, it'll be because he's almost 60 and the rigors of doing a rock tour are taking a toll..
nalafej
Do you know something we don't, nalafej? Not at all. I like the current band and don't wish it to change. It seems unlikely to me that the same 6 guys will be the only six guys for more than a few years.
lost highway
Things change sometimes, but I'd like to think that at this point, 10 years with the same lineup, it's pretty stable.
