We were pretty psyched to hear that...and then we watched Bruno. Good times. My wife and I just had that exact same experience last night. I was like, "That's Wilco! That song is like ten years old." And then she told me she heard "You Never Know" in Borders last week. lol

emily
i saw 'funny people' a few months ago at an advanced screening, and i highly recommend it. it's not only one of sandler's best "serious" roles, but a great collaborative effort by the entire cast... oh, and WILCO! the band is featured in an ongoing story line, and jesus, etc. get some airtime on screen. loved it. i practically yelled right out in the theater when seth rogan started talking about a wilco show at the greek in LA. SEE IT... 7/31/09!
ThisIsNowhere
They were playing Nothing'severgonnastandinmyway(again) as background music at Universal Studios in LA. I couldn't believe my ears.

newbornghost
(Ok, I'm a few days late in reporting this, but it IS noteworthy, esp on this thread.) I've been following Lance Armstrong's daily video updates on the Tour de France, and right before Stage 9, he recorded a video, and he was totally blasting (slight exaggeration) 'Solitaire' in his hotel room! Link YOU GO LANCE!!! Keep listening to W(TA) and you might win the thing!
KansasAl
when a local sports radio station came back from their break (the Chris and Cowboy show on 610 in KC if anyone cares) the song they played before they came back on the air was Casino Queen of all things. I found myself knowing the music which I typcially tune out and then realized what it was. Quite odd. But kinda cool

Beltmann
Stacy and I saw The National tonight in Milwaukee, and both the preshow and aftershow music featured "Bull Black Nova." There was a Son Volt poster in the lobby, which prompted a woman in line near us to say, "Hey, that's that group with the other singer from that band, Uncle something..." Later, the couple sitting directly in front of us turned out to be big Wilco fans, which led to some good conversation about Jay Bennett and Summerteeth.
